 Tuning our objectives

We need to agree on a sound and valid definition of
  • traditional knowledge
  • indegenous knowledge
  • local knowledge

 To take in mind

  • the decision for individual topics on TK shall have a common denominator in order to avoid that the semester project becomes just a collection of single works instead of a sound and round up publication.
  • we shall take the pros and cons of the usage of TK into account(ie.can TK be an obstacle for development).
  • be non-ideological
  • the scheduled semester project hours could also be used to get a hand on different managment tools (mindmaps, flipcharts, whatever)
  • literature research can include
    • searching for literature 😛
    • contacting organizations/individuals that are active in this field

Organisation

definition of an organizational structures

  • how to moderate meetings and discussions (fixed/rotating moderator/protocol writer? no moderation at all?)
  • setup of an Ilias group (done by lr who grants us administrator rights as well or change settings so that we can add content)
  • all project members and tutors will be added
  • open for the others to see group content (sn can investigate on to set permission rights in order to do that)
  • introduction to online research tool Zotero for the case that
  • everybody agrees on using it for communication
  • http://www.zotero.org/
  • creation of an online repository where everybody can add his found
  • literature to share with the other group members
  • do we use a project management tool?
    • online/collaborative
    • open source
    • ms project
    • none at all
  • usage of a blog for showing project progress and also let others see how we work on problems and which tools/concepts we use -> transperancy
  • sn proposes to open a blog at http://noblogs.org or http://blogsport.de
  • for an introduction on how to start editing a Wikipedia article we shall ask Martin from the Jordan semester who is now at the ITT and participated in writing the articles for the energy sector in Jordan
  • all found (web) resources that are put in Ilias (or Zotero) shall be described shortly in order to give an impression to the others
  • language in mails and text conversation is English
  • personal meetings can be held in German or English depending on the preferences of the people (initial agreement is for German)
  • shall we use a chat or maybe even conference software(open source) for virtual meetings?
